Sanni, Stress and Design Engineer, Tampere, Finland
Sanni is an energy technology engineer who applied to Comatec immediately after graduation. For the first six months Sanni worked at Comatec through an agency, before getting a permanent position.
– My main tasks are pressure calculations, material specifications and the preparation of calculation reports. My practical work largely involves Excel spreadsheets and digging up all sorts of standards and the like. We do a lot of work with the rest of the design team, which in short is about finding the best solutions together – or even just possible solutions, says Sanni.
In Sanni’s experience she is constantly learning new things at Comatec. She has also had a say in the areas she focuses on, and has been able to develop in many areas of expertise. Also Sanni emphasizes it’s a great thing that colleagues always support newcomers in learning the ropes. Projects and clients can be very different, and keeping abreast of ever-changing requirements is a must.
In project work, the workload may also vary.
– The best thing about my job is the variety! The work is challenging enough to keep it interesting, but there’s always help at hand if things get too difficult. I’ve also been given more responsibility as my skills develop, and at the same time I’ve been able to grapple with more difficult cases that I haven’t come across before. I like these challenges.
– Comatec is a multi-faceted workplace with excellent opportunities to continually better yourself. My work community is small and tightly knit, with fantastic people. A big shout out to them all!
What would you say to someone who’s thinking of applying to Comatec, Sanni?
– Don’t hold back! There’s such a variety of projects to choose from that the same job title can cover a wide range of activities, and can be adapted to suit your particular skills.
