Vehicle safety requirements
When a motor vehicle or trailer is placed on the market, type-approval facilitates the placing on the market and the free movement of the vehicle within the EU. To be approved for use in traffic, a vehicle must meet the requirements of the legislation in every area (e.g. brakes, lights, etc.).
